A Kelpie is a supernatural water horse in Celtic folklore. They are believed to haunt the rivers of Ireland and Scotland. In Celtic folklore they are described as being a strong and powerful horse. In some stories their skin is black, however in others they are white.

They are said to be able to transform into beautiful young women in an effort to lure handsome young men into traps. A common form of Kelpies is a water horse, they use this form to lure small children into the water so that they can drown them and later eat them.
