Talk:Enchantment

I have to disagree...enchanting a construct would be like wetting down some water. An enchantment IS a construct, placed in an object. A spell is a construct. WingedWolfPsion 9:54 PM, February 16, 2006 (MTN)
- I view it more as adding chapters to a book, or parts to a robot. Adding pure water to pure water makes no change in the action the water performs; and soap works in part by making water wetter. -- Siege 20:18, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- But you aren't adding anything different...constructs always have programming. You're just adding more programming. WingedWolfPsion 9:54 PM, February 16, 2006 (MTN)
- Do you know software? I might speak of wrapping a network interface with a GUI shell, called from a batch file. All of these are forms of programming, but each one is a different kind of software. The network interface may be vital to the function of the shell, but it's just another part to be plugged in; and the batch file isn't really part of the program and doesn't necessarily care what happens, it just says 'go' to the other stuff.
- Or I might use the analogy of building fireworks. Each shell may have a number of different pellets and fuels, creating various different effects, from colors to bursts to spark trails. Some enormous shells may in fact be made up of several different shells inside, launched by the initial burst so that a series of very different effects will occur simultaneously.
- I know, energy is energy. Appliances aren't vital to the structure of a house, but would you want to live without them? -- Siege 06:01, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
